Get started with FamilyMesh

Installation takes only a few minutes. Use only the APK downloaded from the official FamilyMesh page.

Install the app

Download the APK
Use the button above or scan the QR code from another phone.

Allow installation
If Android asks, allow app installation for the browser you are using. You can disable this permission again after installation.

Create a profile or sign in
Use your name, email or phone, and a password at least 10 characters long.

Create a space or open an invitation
A QR invitation connects the profile to the family or group that created it.

Android permissions

Notifications

For new messages and incoming calls.

Microphone and camera

Only for voice messages, walkie-talkie and calls.

Location

For the map and location sharing after your action.

Nearby devices

For Nearby communication over Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi.

If messages or calls do not arrive in the background

Enable Online status in the app or widget.
Allow notifications and full-screen incoming calls in Android settings.
Disable strict battery restrictions for FamilyMesh and allow background activity.
After changing permissions, switch Online off and on again.

If a call ends with an ICE error

The call signal arrived, but the phone networks could not establish a media channel. Switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data. Reliable connections across restrictive mobile networks require a TURN relay.

Verify a new device safely

After a reinstall or sign-in on a new phone, compare its key fingerprint over another trusted channel. Never approve an unknown device only because it displays a familiar name.

Emergencies

FamilyMesh and SOS do not replace emergency services. When danger is immediate, use your official emergency number.
